The mission of H.E.A.R.D. is to strengthen community infrastructure, provide connections and resources, advocate with youth, and enact change in order to prevent substance use and reduce its impact on youth and young adults in the Lubbock area.
H.E.A.R.D. is a group of community members from every sector of Lubbock and we’d love for you to join us!
Our Vison
Our community has everything it needs so all youth and young adults know they matter, are valued, have a voice, and are thriving.
We Believe
Creating sustainable change in the community requires the collaboration of multiple stakeholders. Community partnerships are essential to inspire and create sustainable change. These partnerships bring together individuals, organizations, and institutions to work towards a common goal. With the support of community partnerships, resources can be pooled to address issues such as poverty, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. By working together, communities can create lasting change that benefits everyone.
We Value
Youth voices are essential to our work. We believe that young people have unique perspectives and experiences that can inform our decisions and help us create a better future for everyone. By involving young people in our work, we can ensure that our solutions are relevant and impactful for all members of our community.
Prevention is another important value we hold dear. By identifying and addressing potential problems before they escalate, we can avoid many of the negative consequences that often come with crisis situations. This proactive approach is critical for creating safe and healthy communities.
WANT TO BE
INVOLVED?
Are you ready to assist in making community change in your area? Would you like to be a voice that empowers your peers to remain free from substance use? The HEARD Coalition is inviting you to take part in working together to reduce the risk of substance use among young people and to raise awareness about mental health issues young people face.
